Sardar Sarovar dam at Kevadia in Narmada district of Gujarat started overflowing on friday night. Following the release of water from Omkareshwar dam and Indira sagar Dam in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh.

Due to heavy rains in the catchment area the Sardar Sarovar dam on Narmada river at Kevadia Colony in the Narmada district overflowed.

The water level (at the dam) reached 121.92 metres to overflow. This follows the release of 1 lakh cusecs of water from Omkareshwar dam and Indira Sagar Dam on Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh. All the six units of the riverbed power house at the dam has started generating 1200 MW of power at their fullest installed capacity.

The authority of Sardar Sarovar Dam will make all the arrangements for the tourists to visit the beautiful look out of Narmada Dam overflow. They are expecting a huge amount of tourists visit to the Narmada Dam.
