Gujarat’s Largest Covid Triage set up in Covid Department of Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara

A covid triage has been set up on the ground floor of the covid building at Sayaji Hospital to save the life of the patients brought here with similar symptoms. Here they will get necessary immediate treatment including oxygen as per the covid guideline.

From 10-12-2020, this 22 bed facility has become the largest covid triage facility in Gujarat and Vadodara. It will be operated as per the principle of Golden Hour immediate treatment with the symptoms of covid and for urgent treatment of patients in increasing less severe condition.

Expressing the feeling that this is a new step in the advanced facilities of covid treatment provided to Sayaji and Gotri Hospitals in Vadodara by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister and the state Health Department, Dr. O.B. Belim said that the officer on special duty and Education Secretary Dr. Vinod Rao was trying for this facility and it is being operated under his guidance.

Whether it is an accident or a serious physical illness, getting the necessary treatment in the first hour helps a lot in saving the life of the patient which is known as the Golden Hour Principal. Dr. Belim said the patients being shifted from another hospital to Sayaji Hospital with positive as well as symptoms of covid and relatively in critical condition would be given the necessary treatment including oxygen at the facility immediately.

Once their health stabilizes, a patient who has not undergone a covid test will undergo a covid test and positive patients will be moved to the covid ward. If the test is negative, the patient will be moved to a non-covid ICU or ward depending on the severity of his condition. Such a patient can be taken to other free hospitals for treatment if the relatives wish. Maximum care will be taken to keep the patient free from infection at each stage of treatment.

The facility will have the services of specialist and consultant doctors, skilled nursing staff and paramedics round the clock. Even if the test is not done, the patient will be treated with the necessary precautions, depending on the possibility of suffering from covid.

Specialist doctors will observe the patient’s condition and decide in minutes how to treat them and accordingly immediate treatment will be started which will be very crucial in saving the life of the patient. The facility here is even bigger than the Dedicated Covid Triage in Ahmedabad. This facility will be operated strictly following the Covid Guideline of the Government of India.

It is to be mentioned that covid patients from Central and South Gujarat districts come to Sayaji Hospital for treatment. Patients from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan also benefit from this hospital. So a very large community will benefit from this facility.
