Western Railway GM reviewed the progress of various ongoing developmental works during inspection of Bhavnagar division

Alok Kansal - General Manager of Western Railway visited Bhavnagar Division recently to attend the meeting with Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railway. During his three day visit, he also conducted inspection of Somnath & Bhavnagar stations, took stock of the passenger facilities and inspected the catering stalls, passenger waiting rooms, drinking water facilities, Divyang toilets, booking offices, other passenger amenities as well as overall cleanliness of station premises. GM directed the officials to augment the passenger facilities for their better convenience. He also reviewed the various ongoing development works in the division.

According to Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, General Manager held a meeting with the officials of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and took stock of the multiple ongoing development works. He met the public representatives including villagers of Somnath – Kodinar New line project at Somnath station and assured to resolve their grievances as well as interacted with media representatives. GM also visited the Divisional Railway Hospital at Bhavnagar and inaugurated the newly developed PSA based oxygen generator plant as well as the refurbished Pathology Lab.

The Oxygen generation plant will ensure continuous supply of oxygen to the indoor patients. With the new revamped lab, most of the tests can be done in the hospital itself and reports be made available to the patients at the earliest. Kansal, then interacted with the indoor patients and inspected the facilities in the hospital. The patients appreciated the services rendered by the hospital and expressed their gratitude.

In appreciation of the commendable work by the hospital staff, GM declared awards to the lab staff as well as the staff managing the Oxygen plant. Thereafter, GM interacted with the hospital staff and discussed about the ways to improve the facilities at the hospital. He also took part in the tree plantation drive in the hospital premises.

Thakur stated that GM conducted meeting with Divisional Railway Manager and all the branch officers to review the achievements of the Division, noteworthy works pertaining to passenger convenience, safety related works as well as the progress of various ongoing infrastructural projects, their targeted date of completion. In his address, Kansal emphasized on the motto of Rashtra Pratham, Sarvada Pratham and stated that we should all work wholeheartedly in the interest of the nation. The progress of the nation should always be our priority and strive hard to accomplish it. He proudly mentioned that Western Railway is already on the right track and will continue to maintain the momentum.
