Vadodara police get possession and return back with narcotics accused fled to Hong Kong

Ten years ago, after fleeing from Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara, the accused drug mafia was caught by the crime branch team from Hong Kong as he fled to abroad after evading the police. The SOG team has taken the possesion of the accused and initiated proceedings.

As per the details, Xi Jig Feng alias Richard was arrested by NCB, Ahmedabad on charges for narcotics offenses on 22/11/2008 with drugs named Methamphetamine worth Rs 12 crore from Vadodara Bypass Road, near Maneja. His two other accomplices Gunasekharan Pillai and Ravindra Karpyano were also arrested. Both sentenced to life imprisonment in the case filed by NCB Ahmedabad and is currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail, Ahmedabad.

The accused, Xi Jing Feng alias Richard, was remanded in judicial custody at Vadodara Central Jail. Where he came in contact with accused and with their help conspired and fled from Sayaji Hospital on 28/4/2011 evading the police. He was taken there for treatment by the team where he escaped from the back gate of the hospital. A case has been registered in this regard at Raopura police station.

The accused, Xi Jing Feng alias Richard then fled to Nepal and from there gone to Canada. With the help of fake passport from Canada he went to Hong Kong and there he was caught in money laundering case and was sentenced to 4 years and 4 months.

Meanwhile, on 16/3/12, after being informed about this, an extradition proposal was sent to Proper Channel MEA on 27/10/12 to bring him back to India. On the basis of which, on completion of the sentence of the accused, an order was issued on 7/2/18 to hand over the accused to India. The accused filed an appeal in Hong Kong SAR against the order which was dismissed on 7/5/21. The Consulate General in Hong Kong informed the Indian authorities to send two officers to Hong Kong as escorts to hand over the custody of Xi Jing Feng alias Richard.

So the two officers of the Crime Branch were sent with the necessary correspondence with various departmental authorities and Hong Kong embassies for this work. The officers who took possession of the accused from Hong Kong have returned back. Necessary action has been taken by SOG for the crime filed in Raopura police station and with the NCB.
