On the occasion of the Prime Minister's birthday on Friday, a ground breaking ceremony was held at the Sayaji Hospital premises for the commencement of development works worth Rs. 2.45 crores. Superintendent Ranjan Krishna Iyer performed the puja and expressed happiness that these works would increase the convenience and safety of patients.
Informing about these development works, Project Implementation Unit (P.I.U.) executive engineer Dushyant Joshi said that as part of the expansion of the Trauma Building, a new toilet complex and additional new elevators will be constructed on each floor under these works. In addition, creating a fire safety exit will increase safety of the patients.
He said that a site in the Kirti Mandir premises opposite Sayaji Hospital has been selected for the construction of a new mother and child department as part of Sayaji Hospital. The process of selecting the architect to prepare its design is currently underway. This is a development plan of about one hundred crore rupees.
