Vadodara District Collector held meeting with industrial associations and concerned departments as part of making the city an export hub

In order to make Vadodara a export hub of national and international level industrial products, the infrastructure facilities will be enhanced as part of the missing link with the cooperation of the Central Government, said Collector R.B. Barad.

A meeting was held in the Dharasabha Hall of the Collectorate with the officials of the Government of India's Foreign Trade, District Industry Center and representatives of various industrial boards.

Collector said that large scale manufacturing of medicine, engineering and electrical appliances is taking place around Vadodara and there are bright opportunities for export. And while there are bright export opportunities, all the preliminary preparations have been started to make Vadodara an export hub by exploring the possibility of exporting various industrial products from Vadodara Airport through domestic and international air cargo in the near future. As a result, the traffic load on expressways and national highways will be eased.

The Collector added that while the new Mumbai-Delhi Freight Corridor is being constructed near Vadodara, an exercise will also be carried out to set up an inland container depot at Varanama in the district.

An official of the Foreign Trade Department of Government of India, Dr. Rahul Singh had assured that the Foreign Trade Department of the Central Government would extend full cooperation to make Vadodara an export hub.

Himanshu Mewada, General Manager, District Industries Center gave the necessary details. District Development Officer Dr. Rajendra Patel and officials were present in this meeting.
