Vadodara Congress protest against Gyanshakti celebration by the BJP government

Taking a dig at the government, Vadodara Congress raised their protest against the Gyanshakti celebration by the BJP in Gujarat. Joined by senior leader Siddharth Patel they raised slogans against the government and said they have no right to celebrate. Police detained senior leaders along with Siddharth Patel for violation of guidelines.

Congress members and supporters gathered at the Nagar Praathmik Sikshan Samiti office and raised their protest against the Gyanshakti celebration by the BJP government in the state. They put allegations on the government for failed in giving quality education to students and promote privatisation.

"When people are fighting with epidemic, inflation the government is celebrating the day to hide their failures. The education policy of the government is not right as one side they are talking about e education and failed to fill up vacancies of teachers, lab technicians, PT teachers and librarians in schools. Around 3500 schools are not having computers, Gujarat is at 21st position in terms of girls education and many schools were closed in rural areas, " Said Siddharth Patel.

Leader of opposition in VMSS, Ami Ravat said, BJP dont have any right for five years celebration. Around 6000 schools are shut and there is no quality education given in government run schools. Girl dropout ratio is also increased when the government is talking about promoting girls education. Science education has been stopped in tribal areas which raised a question about are they doing it deliberately to let them uneducated and exploit them. We demand to stop privatisation of education and implement the fee regulation order as well as the RTE in schools.

Police detained Congress leaders including Siddharth Patel, city president Prashant Patel and supporters for violation of guidelines in place.
