Vadodara Collector RB Barad handed identity cards to six Transgender people

In Gujarat Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act-2019 and Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules-2020 have been implemented. Under this act, 06 transgender persons of Vadodara were given identity cards regarding as transgender persons by the Collector RB Barad. The Transgender people were happy to receive a certificate of gender identity.

Importantly, if a person from the transgender community wants to get a certificate identifying his / her gender, he / she should submit a birth certificate, Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank passbook, passport along with a sample affidavit on the National Portal for Transgender Persons of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. All such documents need to be applied online at https://transgender.dosje.gov.in
