After ten day of Ganeshotsav Vadodara bids emotional farewell to Lord Ganesha on Anant Chaturdarshi falls on Sunday. With strict ban imposed on lakes, devotees immersed Ganesha idols in artificially prepared four lakes with eco friendly way.
Ganesha idols immersion has started since morning on the last day of Ganeshotsav in Vadodara city amidst rains which lead to waterlogging in some areas. However the spirit of devotees is high as they bid farewell to Bappa with enthusaism and immerse the idols at artificial lakes prepared by the administration.
For smooth flow of events, on orders of Vadodara police Commissioner the roads lead to artificial lakes were declared as no parking zones and ban entry of heavy vehicles at some roads. Traffic diversion is also given to ease the flow of traffic. As far as artificial lakes are concerned the administration make every arrangments to ensure safety and management during immersion.
"The administration had pre planned all the arrangements in advance for the immersion. We prepare four artificial lakes with facilities like water, manpower, roads, street lights for the smooth flow of devotees and immersion process. We ensure the safety and security of people and kept fire, security, police, forest department, MGVCL and various departments of corporation on standby, " Said Shalini Agarwal Municipal Commissioner Vadodara.
More than 5000 idols installed at home and pandals were immersed at four artificial lakes and more than 10000 idols installed at small pandals and home were immersed in eco friendly manner at the very same place. Police also appealed people to immersed idols in their societies or homes as part of safety.
