Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has clearly stated that water is no longer the cause of the problem in Gujarat but has become a means of development. Due to the integrated planning of water distribution, pure drinking water has reached to each house and farmers have access to water for agriculture through various irrigation schemes.

At the program of Water Supply Department held at Savli he said, "Our government is constantly striving to provide facilities like cities to the people of villages. The CM declared Vadodara district 100% tap water connected.

Vadodara has become the sixth district in the state to get 100% tap water after Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Anand, Botad and Porbandar. In addition the CM done ground breaking ceremony and inaguration of a total of Rs. 491.39 crore water supply works.

He added that under the Jal Jeevan Mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide pure drinking water to every household by 2024, Vadodara district has realized its commitment in the year 2021. The scheme is carried out in Gujarat with the determination to supply drinking water to all the households in the state through tap by the year 2022.

In the past, human settlements were established in areas where water was readily available and culture developed around reservoirs or rivers. But, we know that Gujarat has been suffering from water scarcity for a long time. Lack of access to water was a major problem for women. But now, due to long-term planning of water supply department, pure drinking water has reached every household, he added.

Advocating for careful use of natural resources, the Chief Minister said that every drop of water should be put to good use by understanding its value. Water should be used as an offering to the Lord. As we know, the consequences of climate change are looming large over the world. Water dripping from a tap consumes 3,000 liters of water per year. He urged people to understand the importance of water and not to waste it.

As the development journey of Vadodara district continues, the missing links in the development of the district will be filled. The Chief Minister gave the role of Niramay Gujarat Abhiyan.

Water Supply minister Hrishikesh Patel said, Vadodara district is sixth in achieving the target of 100% tap water after Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Anand, Botad and Porbandar districts.

He said that under the 'Har Ghar Nal Se Jal' scheme, 3,26,705 houses located in rural areas of Vadodara district. Drinking water has been supplied to 100 per cent households through tap at a cost of Rs 83.90 crore.

He added that after PMJAY, Maa card-health facilities, now water has also reached people's homes, which has led to an increase in public welfare.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a Rs. 126.59 crore Vadodara North Division Group Water Supply Scheme based on well source in Mahi river at Angadh village comprising 39 villages and 34 suburbs of Vadodara taluka. The scheme will provide clean drinking water to 2.42 lakh people from now on.

The Chief Minister inaugurated five new group water supply schemes worth about Rs. 364.80 crore for a total of 211 villages in Vadodara, Savli, Desar and Karjan talukas. With these schemes, clean drinking water will be available to 4.35 lakh rural population in the near future.

Donations were made by leaders and businessmen in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and Girls' Education Fund.
