MS University on Friday declared that it will take all the exams in offline mode only. For the past couple of days, the university campus has been witnessing representations from various student groups demanding the varsity to conduct exams in online mode.
On Friday too, scores of students thronged the university head office demanding all varsity exams in online mode. Two student groups – Vidyarthi Vikas Sangh and All Gujarat Students Group (AGSG) –taged protest at the head office to press for their demands. In a show of strength, AGSG had also taken out a bike rally from main unit of Faculty of Commerce to MSU head office.
Later, the university officials convened a meeting with the protesting students with the vice-chancellor and other officials. "All the student groups have agreed that the university should conduct the exams in offline mode only as we have completely shifted towards offline mode," said MSU's registrar Dr K M Chudasama.
Regarding the exam pattern, Chudasama said that deans of respective faculties will decide on the exam pattern based on the subjects that are taught in the faculty.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) too staged protest demanding that the university should arrange for hard copies of degree certificates of undergraduate and postgraduate students at the earliest.
Chudasama said that the degree certificates have already been uploaded online and the university will soon arrange for physical copies of the certificates.
