A 18-year-old student of the M S University (MSU) here died due to a suspected cardiac arrest at the boy's hostel campus on Wednesday night.

The deceased Deep Shyamji Chaudhary had gone there to meet his friends when the incident took place.

Chaudhary (18) was native of Patan district and was in second year BSC (zoology) at the Faculty of Science. He used to stay as a paying guest in the city.

On Wednesday night, Chaudhary went to meet his friends in the K M Munshi Hall of the hostel campus after having dinner.

He was rushed to the SSG Hospital (SSGH) where he was declared dead. Dean of the Faculty of Science professor Hari Katariya said that a cardiac arrest is believed to be the reason for the death.

Chaudhary's father who is an assistant sub-inspector in the police department rushed to the city in the wake of the death of his son.

Solanki said that the body will be taken to Chaudhary's native place in Patan district for last rites. He added that Chaudhary was very good at studies and also a wildlife photography enthusiast.

In a similar case, a 35-year-old autorickshaw driver suddenly collapsed while re-fuelling his vehicle at a petrol pump in Kapadvanj town of Kheda on Thursday. Hasmukh Zala, a resident of Vantda village of Aravalli district, died on the spot and a massive cardiac arrest is suspected to be the reason. He also suffered a head injury.
