On the occasion of Vijay Divas, Uniformed Scout and NCC cadets in Vadodara gave heartfelt tribute to late Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat his wife Madhulika Rawat and soldiers martyred in fatal helicopter accident. On this occasion, Vadodara Municipal Corporation band paid homage to their martyrdom through heroic tunes. The dignitaries present there paid silent homage to them and remember their contribution which inspire the youths of the country for years.
The tribute meeting was organized by Vadodara branch of Vadodara District India Scout and Guide Association at Jeevan Bharti school and attended by police commissioner Dr. Shamsher Singh among other dignitaries. Expressing his feeling over the tragic death of country's first CDS and military officers in an unfortunate accident, police commissioner said, it was a great shock to the country and their lives would inspire the youth of country to live and dedicate themselves to the nation. "Today is the day of victory against Pakistan and creation of Bangladesh, this tribute meeting has become very relevant," he added.
Urging the youth community to have high dreams and make them come true, he said that heroes like Bhagat Singh, martyred for the country and athletes who made the dream of winning a medal for the country in the Olympics are a source of inspiration for the youth. Referring to the Mission Clean Campaign, she urged the youth to stay away from drugs and cooperate in the city police's campaign to rescue such youths trapped in its clutches. He urged to cultivate a sense of respect for women power and be responsible citizens.
Expressing the feeling that the martyrdom of Late CDS Bipin Rawat and the army officers would inspire the child soldiers to join the forces, Maulin Vaishnav said, country will remember Field Marshal General Sam Manekshaw and first CDS Late Bipin Rawat for centuries. The purpose of the scout activity is to inculcate patriotism and discipline in the students from childhood and to cultivate them as responsible citizens. He reminded that scout activity developed in Vadodara under the full encouragement of Maharaja Sayajirao before independence.
