Two complaints under Land Grabbing Act in Vadodara, confiscation of ancestral land in Tarsali

Two more complaints have been registered under the Land Grabbing Act in Vadodara. In the first, Makarpura police have registered a case against a person who disobeyed a court order, illegally constructed a farm and confiscated land by putting his own signboard on the main door.

On the other hand, showing mercy to the homeless family of Suleimani Chawl, the shop owner rented two shops to live and do business. However, the tenant not pay the rent for two and half years and threaten not to vacant the place. Panigate police have registered an offense under the Land Grabbing Act.

Kiritbhai Manibhai Patel, a 63-year-old resident of Jetalpur area of ​​Vadodara city, said in his complaint that there was ancestral land with different survey numbers at Tarsali village. Jitendra Gordhanbhai Patel, grandson of Motabapa Chitabhai Patel, had filed a suit in the court stating that he owned 1 of the land in Survey No. 38. The Court allowed the plaintiff to file a counter claim against the claim. During the year 2013, Jitendra Patel broke the fencing wire around the disputed land and started pucca construction in the land and put up a board showing a public notice that he was in possession of the land.

As the case was pending in the court, the court dismissed Jitendra Patel's suit and ruled in favor of the respondent. Thus, despite the court order, Jitendra Patel locked the door of the farm in the land owned by the complainant and confiscated the property by illegally occupying the land. The same was submitted to the Collector for action under the Land Grabbing Act. Meanwhile, a complaint was lodged at Makarpura police station and police have registered a case.

Mayuriben Dineshbhai Pandit, owns shops number three and four on the ground floor of Pushti Smriti Residency cum Plaza opposite Suryanagar Garba Ground on Waghodia Road. Earlier, after the construction of Smriti Residency cum Plaza, the shops were not sold and the partners shared the shops evenly. The shops were rented to Sajidbhai Latifbhai Sheikh (Rahe, Sulemani Chali, Vadodara) for a fabrication business for 11 months at Rs. 8500 per month.

Showing mercy to Sajidbhai, who became homeless after Sulemani Chawl demolition, the shop owner extended the rent period for his family to live and do business. Since then, Sajidbhai has refused to vacate the shop and lives with his family. He has not even paid the rent for the last two and a half years and threatened not to vacate the place.

During the year 2019, a complaint was lodged at the Panigate police station. However, even after that the issue was not resolved and a suit was filed in the court. On the basis of representation to the Deputy Collector in this regard, the Commissioner of Police gave the green signal to register an offense under the Land Grabbing Act.

Earlier, the Vadodara district police had registered a complaint under the Land Grabbing Act in Dumad and Gojali villages of Dabhoi taluka. Police took further action based on the complaint.
