Turtles continues to die in popular Sursagar lake in Vadodara as the Gujarat SPCA team found 7th dead turtle from lake on Wednesday. Shocked with that they will now give complaint in the forest office against the resposible under wildlife protection Act 1972.
As per details given by Raj Bhavsar, they received the information about a dead tortoise float near Gate no. 4 inside the popular Sursagar lake situated in the heart of Vadodara city. Immediately as per the instructions of Raj Bhavsar, GSPC team rushed to the spot and recovered a tortoise from Surasagar lake in a dead condition.
This was the 7th tortoise the team found from inside the lake. The team questions the working of the administration as such wild animals have been repeatedly found dead in front of the statue of Shivaji. No proper action has been taken by the corporation and steps taken to clean the water which is very polluted.
Raj Bhavsar said they will now give a complaint in forest department under Wildlife Protection Act 1972 against the responsible.
