Vadodara is known as city of crocodiles and the only place where crocodiles live along with human population. However for the past some time the city has been facing cases of crocodile deaths which includes four big ones in past couple of months. At that time, a prayer meeting was organized to pay homage to a giant crocodile who died a few days ago with the aim to make people sensitive towards crocodiles and wildlife.

A dead 10 foot three inch full grown adult mass crocodile was seen floating inside the Vishwamitri river near Kalaghoda bridge in Vadodara. Condemn its death the animal activists organised a prayer meeting for the crocodile on 15th August Sunday attended by animal lovers and others.

Importantly, the Vishwamitri River, which runs through the center of the city, has a large crocodile kingdom. With the death of 4 giant crocodiles in two months, there is a huge outrage among animal lovers. They named the dead crocodile 'Mangal Pandey' and pay homage. According to them the death of a giant crocodile on August 10 has revolutionized the issue and has been named after Mangal Pandey who started the revolution in the country.

It is worth mentioning that environmentalists dressed in white attended the tribute program joined by more than 70 people. joined. They appealed for proper preservation of the Vishwamitri river so that the precious heritage given by the environment can be preserved. At the same time, everyone observed a 2-minute silence to pay homage to the dead crocodiles.
