Teach For India Ahmedabad organised the Ahmedabad Education Conclave at the Ahmedabad Management Association on 18th March 2023.

Through this Conclave, the organization is working towards building a stronger alignment between the Government and the Civic society towards excellent education in the Region. 

The Conclave saw more than 80 participation from Government Stakeholders, Civil Society organizations working in Education, Educators, Students from Teach For India schools, and Teach For India Alumni.

Teach For India’s vision is for all children to get an excellent education. 

Their mission is to empower and build a movement of leaders by providing them with the support and ecosystem to manifest that change. 

As one of India’s largest Fellowship and pipeline of talent into the education sector, Teach For India creates a nationwide impact by bringing India’s brightest students and professionals to become Teach For India Fellows and placing them as teachers in Government schools and affordable private schools for two years.

Currently, Ahmedabad has 63 Teach For India Fellows teaching 2300+ children across primary and secondary schools

Panelists like Raj Gilda, Founder of Lend A Hand India, Nishita Mehta, Chief Operating Officer at CSRBox, R.M. Chaudhari, District Education Officer and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and School Head Teacher, Ms. Jasmine were part of the first panel, discussing the Government’s Role in enabling NGOs towards quality education. 

The panel was led by Amey Sharangpani - Senior Manager, Government Relations at Teach for India.

Sharing his excitement, Mr. Apoorv Shah, City director at Teach for India said, “This conclave will open more opportunities in the region for the government and civil society to come together and work on some key areas in enabling quality education for all children.”

The second panel was about Building Transformational Schools in coherence with Government and Civil Society and had Dr. Sujay Mehta, Chairman of the AMC School Board, Kishan Rathod, Assistant Administrative Officer of the AMC School Board, IIM Professor, Ankur Sarin and Somsuvra Chatterjee, the Director of Akanksha School as panelists. This panel was facilitated by Alpana Mallick who is the Senior Director at Teach For India.

The event also included MasterClasses by FIRKI, Teach For India’s online teacher training Platform, Kids Education Revolution, Teach For India’s student leadership Platform and Saturday Art Class.
