A tanker driver and cleaner were injured in a tragic accident took place between a truck and a milk tanker on the Vadodara-Ahmedabad Express Highway early morning on Saturday. A milk tanker slammed into the parked truck on the road causing damage to the tanker's cabin. The seriously injured tanker driver was taken to Sayaji Hospital in 108 ambulance for treatment.
As per available details received from the Vadodara Fire Brigade, a truck was parked on the road near the Reliance petrol pump on the Vadodara-Ahmedabad Express Highway. The tanker carrying milk from Amreli to Surat crashed into the truck with a thud. People at the petrol pump rushed to the spot to check. However the cabin of tanker was damaged due to the impact and tanker driver was trapped. and the help of Vadodara Fire Brigade was taken.
Vadodara Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and began the rescue operations. They used a hydraulic cutter to pull out the tanker driver who was trapped in the cabin and immediately sent him to Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara in 108 ambulances. The cleaner sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The accident on the Express Highway in the morning also disrupted traffic and cleared soon after the tanker and truck was moved by the crane. Police have registered a case of accident in connection with the incident.
