This takes the total number of e-gates installed at the city airport to four, enabling passengers to swiftly check-in to the airport terminal through DigiYatra.

The SVPI airport introduced an e-gate some months ago and received good response from travellers.
According to airport sources, around 20% of the 14,000 daily departing passengers use DigiYatra. The new e-gates are expected to encourage more passengers to use the platform.

With the installation of these gates at Terminal 1, domestic travellers will be able to reduce check-in process from an average of one and a half hours to just 15 minutes.

DigiYatra’s biometric-based boarding process eliminates the need for physical document checks.

For frequent flyers and business travellers, the ability to move quickly through security and boarding processes can save precious time. The system’s efficiency also means less waiting time, reducing congestion at the terminal.

The airport operator is also introducing two new self-baggage drop counters that will allow passengers who check-in in advance to drop off their luggage without manual assistance. This self-service feature speeds up the baggage handling process.

Recently, the airport also undertook the expansion of the international terminal, which is nearing completion.
