Minister of State Yogesh Patel demand a thorough inquiry in the housing draw list matter and strict action against those involved in the corruption. He said the VMSS authorities also make sure that such officers not return back as in the past he saw such cases where they back to work.
He is speaking on the sidelines of Volvo bus launching event in Vadodara. It is to be mentioned here that the City Engineer has lodged a complaint at the Navapura police station against the corporation's executive engineer (Affordable Housing) and MIC Expert for cheating and betraying the corporation and the beneficiaries by changing the list of 382 beneficiaries of the draw and putting another list on the corporation's website.
Yogesh Patel said, after the matter came to his notice he immediately told the corporation officials to suspend the corrupt officers. It is a very serious matter and even Chief Minister also issued orders for a detailed inquiry in the matter. He said authorities shall make sure that such officers not return back to work, as in the past he saw such incidents where they rejoined. Four to five officers sitting at home will ensure end of corruption. He also point finger on checking the earlier housing draws and if anyone found involved in corruption then strict action will be initiated against them.
Mayor Keyur Rokadia said, two lists one at the function and another at back office were prepared and when matched 42 names were found to be tampered. Both of them accepted and we first file the case and executive engineer Pramod Vasava would be suspended today after the approval by the standing committee. A departmental inquiry is also initiated against him. The MIC expert services is terminated with immediate effect.
As part of the celebrations to mark the 5th anniversary of the state government, Minister of State Yogesh Patel drew 382 houses in a program organized at Vadodara Municipal Corporation's Sayajirao Nagar Gruh on August 7. Affordable Housing Department Executive Engineer Pramod Vasava and MIS Expert Nishit Pithwa changed it and put online, in which the names of the beneficiaries of 42 houses were changed. City Engineer Shailesh Mistry has lodged a complaint at Navapura Police Station.
