Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar observed 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' in school campus on 26 July 2021, on the 22nd anniversary of the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in 'Operation Vijay' against the infiltrating Pakistani troops.

On this occasion, Group Captain Ravinder Singh, Principal of the school laid wreath on Shaurya Stambh - the war memorial of martyrs. On this special day, an online webinar was conducted by the NCC Coy of the school under the guidance of T/O Lalit Yadav, ANO, Sainik School Balachadi NCC Coy.

The presentation started with a speech on short introduction on Kargil Vijay Diwas delivered by Cadet Aaradhya Astitva through video conferencing followed by short video on Kargil War. Cadets shared about the bravery of Kargil War Heroes through role plays. Cadet Rudra Ranipa did the role act of Martyr Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey PVC, Cadet Vishvjeet Chahal did the role act of Colonel Balwan Singh MVC, Cadet Hrushiraj did the role act of Subedar Sanjay Kumar, PVC, Cadet Om Rajkumar did the role act of Major Rushikesh Ramani, Sena Medal and Cadet Aaradhya Astitva did the role act of Captain Nilesh Soni.

To give the occasion an apt tribute, Cadet Vishvjeet Chahal presented a poem on Kargil Diwas and greeting cards made by the cadets for the soldiers posted at Kargil were displayed at the venue. The event was telecasted live to all other cadets of the school who are not present in the school due to Covid-19 pandemic and later Principal addressed the cadets through online mode. Total 250 cadets attended the function.

During his address, the Principal wished everyone 'Happy Kargil Vijay Diwas'. He highlighted the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and shared his views that there are no losers or winners in any war, there are just sufferers. We are not celebrating the victory by losing lives but we are celebrating the victory of courage and grit. The war is the ugliest thing imposed on humanity. He highlighted the words of Major General Ian Cardozo "If you want peace, be prepared for wars".

By keeping ourselves prepared we insure nobody dares to fight with us. He explained why war is fought. He said soldiers fight not because they hate who are in front of them but because they love the ones who are behind them. He told that in Sainik School Balachadi, the cadets are being trained for the preparedness of maintaining the integrity of the country. He concluded his speech with the words of Major General Ian Cardozo "Do what you love and love what you do".
