Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 10th Heads of Missions Conference at Kevadia today.
PM will launch Mission LiFE in Kevadiya in the presence of UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres. Later, PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for Projects worth over 1 thousand 970 crore rupees at Vyara in Tapi district of South Gujarat.
Sources reports that the 10th Heads of Missions Conference is being organized by the Ministry of External Affairs at Kevadiya.
The three-day Conference will bring together more than 100 Heads of Indian Missions including Ambassadors and High Commissioners from all over the world.
Various issues pertaining to the contemporary geo-political & geo-economic environment, and connectivity will be discussed at the conference.
Prime Minister will have a bilateral meeting with UN Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Antonio Guterres at Kevadiya.
PM will launch the Mission LiFE, i. e. Lifestyle for Environment on the occasion. Mission Life will be the India-led global mass movement toward protecting and preserving the environment.
Later in the day, Mr. Modi will lay the foundation stone of multiple development initiatives worth over 1 thousand 970 crore rupees at Vyara, in Tapi district.
This includes foundation stone laying for the improvement of the road between Saputara and the Statue of Unity along with the construction of missing links and water supply projects in Tapi and Narmada districts.
On the first day of his visit yesterday, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stones and dedicated to the nation projects worth over 15 thousand 670 crore rupees.
The Projects include the Mission Schools of Excellence at Adalaj conceived with a total outlay of 10,000 Crore rupees.
Projects worth around 4,260 crore rupees at Trimandir. Foundation stone laying for the improvement of coastal highways along with the construction of missing links, two water supply projects, and construction of a godown complex for the storage of Agri products at Junagadh.
At Gir Somnath, he laid the foundation stone for a fishing port at Madhwad. At Rajkot, the Prime Minister dedicated over 1100 houses constructed under the Light House Project.
Addressing a gathering in Junagadh, Prime Minister Modi said the government is focusing on the security and welfare of fishermen as well as strengthening coastal infrastructure.
He said, the double-engine government is focused on the holistic development of Gujarat's coastline which was looked upon as a burden in history.
The Prime Minister said the Sagarkhedu scheme of the government which addresses special problems to improve the quality of life in coastal areas, especially fisherman population, resulted in increasing the fishing export by seven times during the last eight years.
PM said the drone technology would also be proved beneficial for the fishermen in the coming times.
PM said the government is stressing upon Port led development, which will bring economic benefits to the people in the years to come.
He said the coastal highway will boost tourism activities along with generating employment opportunities in the Saurashtra region.
PM talked about a series of initiatives the government has taken for the welfare of fishermen, farmers, women, and youths during the last 20 years.
He also lauded the farmers practicing natural farming.
During his Rajkot visit, the Prime Minister said, the government is moving with the mantra of Developed Gujarat for a developed India.
He said, over the past 20 years, the industrial development of Gujarat has touched new heights.
The Prime Minister informed that while, on one hand, government gave thrust to industries, and investments through the Vibrant Gujarat campaign, It took initiative to empower the village and the poor through Krishi Mahotsav and Garib Kalyan Melas.
He said, when the poor are empowered, they start making fast ways out of poverty.
In the morning the Prime Minister inaugurated the DefExpo22 at Gandhinagar. He unveiled HTT-40 - the indigenous trainer aircraft designed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and launched Mission DefSpace and laid the foundation stone of Deesa airfield in Gujarat.
The Prime Minister said, it provides a glimpse of the capability and possibility of India in one single frame. He said, that more than 400 MoUs are being signed for the first time ever.
Throwing light on making India's defence sector self-reliant, the Prime Minister said that two lists of equipment have been finalized which would be procured only within the country. The list of 101 such items was released yesterday.
PM Modi said, these decisions show the potential of a self-reliant India. After the list, there will be 411 such equipment and equipment of the defence sector, which will only be bought under the Make in India.
