The chairman of standing committee of Vadodara Municipal Corporation Hitendra Patel has directed to stop the sale of non vegetarian food sold on the main road in open. As part of a campaign for next fifteen days, the teams will work in this direction and remove such food larries from the city roads. The decision is taken in view of faith of citizens as well as to resolve traffic and hygiene issues.
"Instructions are given to the teams as part of the 15 days drive to stop the manner in which non vegetarian food is sold by hanging it in public and also make arrangements to sell it in other ways. There are issues of traffic due to such larries and also hygiene is not maintained. It is also matter of faith as it hurt the sentiments of citizens when they see non veg food hanging in open. The food is to sell in such a way that it will come in vision, " Said Dr. Hitendra Patel, Chairman Standing Committee VMSS.
The mayor of Rajkot has also called a meeting of officials by the chairman of the royal committee of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation yesterday to take strict action against the maker of mutton or omelette for not keeping mutton or omelet lorries parked on the main road and keeping them open in shops. He was asked to drive an omelette lorry and be given 10 days to take action to remove them from public roads.
