New Update

The Gujarat government has stated that the existing night curfew, which runs from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. in eight municipal corporation jurisdictions and 19 municipalities across the state, will be extended until February 4th.

The decision was made following a core committee meeting convened by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who assessed the Covid situation, according to an official announcement.

On Friday, the state reported 12,131 new Covid-19 cases, a slight decrease from the previous day's total. However, the number of people who died from the infection increased dramatically, with 30 people dying across the state.

While the number of active cases fell by over 10,000 patients in a day — from 1.17 lakh on Thursday to 1.07 lakh on Friday — the percentage of critical patients increased somewhat from 0.25 percent to 0.27 percent.

At the same time, the daily increase in new cases has slowed, and the daily test positive rate (TPR) now varies between 10% and 15%.

In Ahmedabad, there were 4,124 new cases and seven deaths, while in Vadodara, there were 2,517 new cases and four deaths. According to data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Vadodara continues to have a high weekly TPR of 32.85%. TPR has dropped in Ahmedabad, from 35.87 percent on January 23 to 29.83 percent on January 27.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, for example, withdrew 36 places from the list of micro-containment zones on Friday and added ten new ones. The majority of the new containment areas are in Gota and Tragad, in the city's northwest zone. A total of 87 households were found around the city, with 60 of them in the northwest.
