National Sports Day celebration at police bhavan in Vadodara

Pictures of Late Shankarrao Thorat and Govindrao Sawant from Vadodara represented India in Olympic Games have been put up at police bhavan to motivate the policemen towards sports and believe about their potential to win medals at Olympics. This was a part of the celebration of National Sports Day at the City Police Bhavan to honor the sportspersons of the police family.

On 29th August as part of the celebration of "National Sports Day", the sportspersons of Vadodara city and police family were honored and the Olympian Govindrao Sawant Trophy was unveiled by Dr. Shamsher Singh, Commissioner of Police.

On this occasion, Vadodara Athletics Association presented photos of Gujarat Police sportspersons to the City Police Commissioner. "As part of the National Sports Day celebration we recieved the pictures of Olympians Shankarrao Thorat and Govindrao Sawant and has been affixed at Police Bhavan to inspire other policemen. It gives them the motivation that they have the potential to won medals in Olympics," Said Dr. Shamsher Singh.
