BJP legislator from Porbandar assembly constituency Arjun Modhwadia and Congress legislator from Danilimda constituency Shailesh Parmar, on Monday, were elected as members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Gujarat Assembly, according to an official release.

At the same time, former minister and BJP MLA from Idar constituency Ramanlal Vora was elected as member of Panchayati Raj Committee (PRC) of the Assembly.

Elections for the two members of PAC and one member of PRC were declared by Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary.

Accordingly for the two posts of PAC members, three MLAs had filed their nominations; BJP legislators Arjun Modhwadia and C J Chavda and Congress legislator Shailesh Parmar.

However, Chavda had withdrawn his nomination following which Modhwadia and Parmar were declared elected unopposed.

Similarly, for the post of member of PRC, nobody filed nomination against BJP MLA Ramanlal Vora following which he too was declared elected uncontested.
