Launching of 3 Oxygen Generating Plants at Sayaji Hospital Campus on Thursday

The Corona Crisis has highlighted and established the critical importance of oxygen in the medical treatment. In collaboration with the Government of India, State Government and donors, oxygen generating plants are being installed on campus to reduce the dependence of hospitals on other outside units for oxygen as much as possible.

Under this, three plants with a total daily oxygen production capacity of 2650 lmp have been set up in the premises of Sayaji Hospital in collaboration with industries.

On 8th July at 11 am in the Sayaji premises of these three plants will be inagurated at hospital premises in presence of Chief Administrator Ashok Patel, Advisor Dr. Minu Patel, Medical Superintendent Dr. Ranjan Krishna Aiyar, Dean of Medical College, Administrative Nodal Officer and representatives of donor organisations.

Administrative Nodal Officer Dr. O.B. Belim said, the total daily production capacity of these three plants is 2650 lmp. Approximately 600 lmp is one ton. Accordingly, these plants will be able to produce approximately 4.3 tons of oxygen per day, which can be supplied by ventilators and NRBMs. ICU for 100 patients equipped with the facilities is considered sufficient for daily management.

In addition, the DRDO by the Central Government, one more Oxygen Plant has been sanctioned for Sayaji Hospital through which the work of setting up is in progress.
