Jagruti Shah of Congress from Kutch joins the BJP in Gujarat

Jagruti Shah, the daughter of former finance minister and Kutch district leader Babu Meghji Shah, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday at state BJP headquarters Shree Kamalam with 45 of her supporters. Jagruti was a member of the Congress and served as the president of the Kutch District Panchayat and the vice president of the Gujarat Youth Congress.

Her brother Gautam was one of the 45 Jagruti followers who joined the BJP. In an interview with the media after joining the BJP, she said, "I have joined BJP while considering the development under the party and with faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi…I have no grievances towards Congress."

Jagruti joined the BJP in the presence of Pradipsinh Vaghela, the party's general secretary. Babu Meghji Shah and his family were once affiliated with the Jan Sangh and the BJP, according to Vaghela, and Jagruti had returned to "her own house."

Aside from Jagruti Shah, numerous actors and actresses from the film and television industries joined the BJP on Wednesday. Bhakti Kubavat, Mamta Soni, Falguni Raval, Kamini Patel, Hemang Dave, Hetal Thakkar, Sunny Kumar, Prashant Barot, and Jyoti Sharma are among the performers.
