Insurance coverage for visitors at Eco Tourism Centers under the Jambughoda, Shivrajpur and Kanjeta ranges

In a unique initiative of Vadodara Wildlife Department for tourist protection, Insurance coverage for visitors is started at Eco Tourism Centers at Jambughoda, Shivrajpur and Kanjeta ranges. The cover is given to all tourists who enter the forest with an authorised permit and stay or make reservations at all five camp sites under the sanctuaries.
Acting Assistant Forest Conservator H.D. Raulji says, there are no major dangers for tourists here, but the presence of animals like panthers, bears sometimes can lead to attack on a tourist or a snake bite can happen. To his knowledge no such incident has taken place but this insurance is for the safety and security of tourists. If one follow the discipline of forest, wild animals will never attack.
The insurance covers all type of accidents leading to death and major disabilities. The village committees at these centres pays the premium for 50 lakh cover for the visiting tourists.
"Accommodation facilities are provided by the eco tourism centres in these five camp sites for the tourists. The insurance cover is an added advantage for them to visit these ranges to enjoy nature at its best, " added Raulji.
