On Saturday, a South African returnee in Gujarat's Jamnagar tested positive for the Omicron variety. Yesterday, a 72-year-old man from Jamnagar tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from Zimbabwe. The man is currently being treated in the state-run GG Hospital, according to sources.
Last week, three people of Indian ancestry returned to Jamnagar from Zimbabwe, according to Jamnagar municipal commissioner Vijay Kharadi. The results of the other two people's tests are still waiting. To confirm the variation, samples for genomic sequencing were provided.
