With chants of 'Vitthal, Vitthal, Vitthala...' the historical Lord Vitthalnathji Procession was carried out from Temple at Mandvi on the occasion of Devpodhi (Shayani) Ekadashi (agiyaras) in Vadodara. Following the Covid guidelines the 212th procession starts from old city area with limited people and returned back after moving in different areas of the city.

As a part of more than 200 year old tradition the procession or 'Vithhalnathji ni Palki' or 'Vitthalnathji Varghodo' as it is known in the local terms, is taken out from Vitthalnathji Temple every year on the occasion of Devpodhi (Shayani) Ekadashi (agiyaras). This year too the procession was taken out in a tempo with only 15 peoples due to Covid guidelines.

Before the start the Royal Gaekwad Family members along with Mayor Keyur Rokadia worship the Lord and offered prayers at the historical Vitthalanath temple situated in Mandvi area of the city. With chants of 'Vitthal, Vitthal, Vitthala...' the Procession started with only Shehnai tunes as palanquin was placed inside the tempo with only 15 persons. Manjalpur MLA Yogesh Patel also joined the procession welcomed at places.

As per tradition the procession stop at the Gahineshwar Mahadev where prayers and rituals is performed symbolises a visit by Vitthalnathji to Lord Shiva. Later in the evening, the procession return to the temple. People will be ready to do auspicious works from this day along with wedding ceremonies at the end of Chaturmas.
