Gujarat’s longest underpass to open in Surat by February 2025

Surat, often referred to as the "Bridge City" of Gujarat, is set to achieve another milestone with the construction of the state’s longest underpass, stretching 502 meters.

This state-of-the-art underpass is part of the city’s Smart City initiative and is expected to be operational by February 2025.

Designed to prioritize safety and comfort, the underpass will feature a revolutionary air-conditioned oxygen supply system to prevent suffocation for motorists.

This facility will ensure a smoke-free and ventilated environment, significantly improving the driving experience. A specialized fire safety system will also be installed, enhancing security for users.

Built at an estimated cost of ₹60 crore, the underpass promises seamless travel for residents and commuters.

The project is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion while offering a convenient and comfortable transit option for Surat’s growing population.

Once completed, the underpass will not only symbolize Surat’s infrastructural advancements but also set a benchmark for innovative urban planning in Gujarat.
