The second semester examinations of Gujarat University colleges that are scheduled to begin from May 26 are likely to be postponed to June following representation by the principals' association.
The association has written a letter to the vice chancellor, asking him to delay exams by 10 days.
It wrote that around 1 lakh students of arts, commerce, science, law, BEd, BBA and BCA have registered for semester 2 exams and college administrations need more time to make preparations.
The association has said that the college administrations have to prepare for seating arrangement and supervision which requires time.
Sources said that many of the teachers have gone on vacation and it will be difficult to makearrangements with less manpower.
A GU senior official said that the VC's office has received a representation from the association but no decision has been taken yet.
Ya He said that if delayed, exams are likely to be rescheduled to June 6.
