A 15-year-old boy from Kheda died while taking the Class 10 board exam at a school in Limbasi of the district on Monday. This is the third death of a student taking the board exams this year.
The boy was disabled and was taking the exam on his wheelchair when the incident took place at around 10.35am on Monday.
"The student named Snehal Bhoi was sitting in the third paper of the Science subject. His mother was sitting outside the examination hall at Navchetan high school in Limbasi. At around 10.35am on Monday, he collapsed on this wheelchair," said Rajesh Sumera, zonal officer for board exam in Nadiad.
Sumera said that a doctor from the village and also 108 ambulance was called.
There were two disabled students including Snehal in the classroom of the Navchetan High School when the incident took place, said Sumera. A
Upadhyay said that he used to go and meet Snehal every day before his exam to wish him the best.
In charge PSI of Limbasi police, Akash Chaudhary, said that the boy had an episode of epileptic seizures due to which his mother used to sit outside the exam centre. However, the board authorities or the school did not initiate any legal action in the case, said Chaudhary.
