A 68-year-old man from Nardipur village in Kalol taluka of Gandhinagar, who was in his native village for Diwali festival, filed a complaint with Kalol taluka police that his neighbours attacked him and tore his clothes over firing crackers late on Monday night.
Soma Patel, who has returned from the US recently, said in his FIR that many people were bursting firecrackers in his village and he too was enjoying it for some time.
But when his two neighbours Anil Prajapati and Mukesh Prajapati started firing crackers in front of Patel's house Patel got irritated, mentioned the FIR.
He said that the two men were throwing firecrackers in front of his house which made him uncomfortable. Patel said that Anil and Mukesh had earlier also picked fight with him over petty issues and they often harassed him using different means.
Patel then went to Anil and Mukesh and objected to bursting too many firecrackers which did not go well with them. He said that the duo began beating him.
