Gujarat Congress for making Rahul Gandhi party chief

The executive committee of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Sunday recommended that Rahul Gandhi be named party president.

Apart from authorizing party president Sonia Gandhi to reorganize the state unit, the state executive also resolved to publicise the eight promises made by party leader Rahul Gandhi up to the booth level before the assembly election.

In another significant decision, the party state executive body passed a resolution that all MLA quarters of opposition MLAs will be made available to protestors who have been visiting the state capital.

Presiding over the meeting, state party chief Jagdish Thakor said that it was unanimously resolved to authorize party president to reorganize the state unit.
