Gujarat: 11-inch rainfall leaves Borsad flooded, 2 dead

Borsad town of Anand district was marooned as the taluka was pounded by over 11 inches of rain in 24 hours ending Thursday morning.
Two people died, one of them after slipping into a storm water drain and another drowning, while 60 domesticated animals were also killed.
South Gujarat too reeled under heavy wet spell with Surat city getting 11 inches of rainfall in 24 hours. Around 200 people have been shifted to a primary school and Patelwadi in the village.
The situation in Siswa was particularly grim as the village is located on the natural flow of water from surrounding areas to Mahi River. Several people have been displaced in the village due to heavy rains.
