Various areas of Maharashtra have been hit by catastrophic floods. In view of the situation, correspondingly, 3 teams of 6th Battalion of NDRF at Vadodara have been immediately sent to Kolhapur by air.

With the help of 5 transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force, these teams are being transported to the flood-hit area with the necessary advanced equipments and facilities of rescue and relief where the trained and skilled personnel of these teams will join the operation with the local administration, police and rescue relief forces.

From Kolhapur, these people are likely to be assigned to rescue and relief operations in areas like Pune, Sangli and Satara, said Mr. Anupam, Deputy Commander, 6 Battalion at Jarod.
