Looking towards the current development in the construction industry, geotechnical challenges are increasing day by day. With this aim, M. S. Patel Department of Civil Engineering is organizing an online 5 days Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Emerging trends in Geotechnical Engineering" from September 6 to 10, 2021, sponsored by AICTE, New Delhi under AICTE Training And Learning (ATAL) Academy.

The speakers of the program are well-known personalities from various IITs, NITs and industries. The objective of the program is to aware about the importance of geotechnical engineering in dealing with various natural disasters like earthquakes, landslides, liquefaction, and avalanche, etc., as well as geotechnical failure of structures.

The program is designed to train faculty members, Ph.D. Research scholars, PG students and industrialists about the recent trends and development in geotechnical engineering and related interdisciplinary research.

This program will be coordinated by Dr. V. R. Panchal, Professor & Head of M. S. Patel Department of Civil Engineering, Chandubhai S. Patel Institute of Technology, CHARUSAT. Dr. Devang Joshi (Registrar, CHARUSAT), Dr. Amit Ganatra (Dean, FTE, CHARUSAT), and Dr. A. D. Patel (Principal, CSPIT, CHARUSAT) expresses their well wishes for the program success.
