The agitation started by more than 600 doctors of Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara with the demand of duration of the batch bond, salary as per the Seventh Pay Commission as well as the S.R. bond scheme be implemented in the state is intensifying day by day. On Saturday they took out a rally inside the campus and demand quick resolution of their demands.

There was also outrage among doctors against the government following the notice issued to evacuate the hostel late in the evening to break the doctors' strike. Doctors said the government should make every effort to break the strike. But, will not be able to break our intentions. They took out the rally and shouting slogans against the government for not listening to their demands and tries to break their unity.

Doctors said the government has not complied with the order for bonded resident doctors doing covid duty and issued a new order assigning doctors to remote villages. Senior resident physicians have sought to be considered in the bond and also demanded pay according to the Seventh Pay Commission. Thus the resident doctors have gone on strike over their outstanding issues and are demanding resolution of the same at the earliest.

Dr. Janvi said "In order to break our strike, a notice was issued by the government at 6 pm on Friday to vacate the hostel rooms without any warning,". There are about 600 doctors and of which 40 per cent are women doctors. They don't think about the safety of the female doctors and issue the notice to vacate rooms. The strike will continue until their demands are met.

The doctors also said that they are trying their best not to disturb any patient undergoing treatment in the hospital. They also have humanity and even on Saturday the patients were examined by the teams of doctors going in the ward. They request the government to resolve their issues at the earliest so that they start serving the patients.
