Daily Covid cases in Ahmedabad plunge by 25%

Recording 25% plunge in daily cases, Ahmedabad on Friday had 38 new Covid cases, going below 50 twice in the past three days. The active cases went below 500 at 442, the lowest since December 28.

Gujarat in 24 hours recorded 96 new Covid

cases and zero deaths of active Covid patients. With discharge of 237 patients, the active cases went down to 1,109.

Out of 33 districts, 19 had 10 or less active cases including four with zero active cases. In city-based hospitals, the number of Covid patients is less than 15, said officials. "The high spread in the initial phase proved beneficial with better herd immunity in city and state at large," said an epidemiologist.

Gujarat in 24 hours vaccinated 11,082 persons for the first dose and 72,561 for the second. In all, 5.2 crore are administered first and 4.9 crore second dose of Covid vaccine.
