On December 25, Gujarat marked 30 days of no recorded Covid death. To put the figure in perspective, since September 25 the state has recorded death of 11 Covid patients at the average of 5.5 till November 24.

On Sunday, the state added three new Covid cases – two in Vadodara and one in Ahmedabad city.
The state had 35 active cases out of which 15 were in Ahmedabad alone.
With apprehensions on the new sub-variants of Covid-19 in other countries, the government has upped ante with advising Covid-appropriate behaviour in crowded places and wearing face masks. tnn
