Central Govt allocates Rs 600 cr to Gujarat for flood relief efforts

The Centre has approved the release of a Rs 600-crore flood relief fund for Gujarat. This is part of Rs 675-crore funds approved for the flood-affected states of Gujarat, Manipur and Tripura.

An announcement in this regard was made late on Monday in a release from the Press Information Bureau.

In August, Gujarat witnessed heavy rainfall and Vadodara city and district, among other places, faced heavy flooding.

An inter-ministerial central team visited the state for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage, the press release said.
