Ahmedabad sees 112 new Covid cases, no Covid death

The city recorded 112 new Covid cases, a drop of 7% from Wednesday.

In Gujarat, the drop was 4%, from 305 to 293. For the third consecutive day, the city recorded no death of Covid patients. In Gujarat, however, mortality increased from five on Wednesday to eight on Thursday. Apart from two deaths in Vadodara city, all other deaths were from districts, the bulletin from the state health department says.

Active cases in Gujarat went down to 2,942 with discharge of 729 patients. Out of total patients, 34 were on ventilators. In Ahmedabad district, active cases reached 1,059 with 260 patients getting discharged. Porbandar is now the third district to have zero active cases after Botad and Junagadh; Gujarat has seven districts with 10 or less active Covid cases.

In the past 24 hours, the state vaccinated 18,393 for the first dose and 82,407 for the second. In all, 5.19 crore people have been administered the first and 4.86 crore the second dose.
