Ahmedabad records 335 new Covid cases

The city on Wednesday recorded 335 new Covid cases, the highest in the past 162 days. It was the second consecutive day of 300-plus cases for the city.

Gujarat registered a 160-day high with 979 new cases. The active cases in Gujarat reached 5,781, out of which 2,089 are from Ahmedabad.

Other cases included 103 from Mehsana, 66 from Vadodara city, 49 from Surat city, 46 from Kutch, 33 from Rajkot city, and 31 from Bhavnagar city among others.

Out of 33 districts, three had zero active cases. Gujarat in 24 hours vaccinated 5,307 persons for the first dose and 11,588 for the second.

In all, 5.42 crore are administered the first and 5.36 crore, the second dose of Covid vaccine.

The state administered booster doses to 31,803 senior citizens, taking the total to 44.51 lakh.
