After the first round of admissions 16k seats vacant in GU colleges

After the first round of admissions in Gujarat University-affiliated colleges, 15,960 are vacant. In the first round, 49,424 students were allocated seats.

There are 65,384 seats available in arts, commerce and science colleges affiliated with GU. 

The university data showed that 24,159 students who had applied for admission in the first round have not been allocated seats. 

According to the new rules, students not allocated seats in the first round will not be allowed to change their college preference in the second round.

Such students will have to wait for the third round of admissions to change their preferences.

So it is likely that several students may not get admission till the beginning of the academic session, said sources.
