Additional Chief Secretary of State Health Department reviewed the four levels of preparations made to meet the possible third wave of Covid

Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Manoj Agarwal has said that effective planning has been done to meet the possible third wave of Kovid-19 in Vadodara city district. He emphasised on intensifying the vaccination drive in Vadodara city and district to ensure maximum vaccination of people to curb the possible third wave. Doses will be provided as per requirement for vaccination, he added.

The walk-in-vaccination for people between the ages of 18 to 44 will start from Monday, June 21, 2021 at vaccination centers across the state. He asked the health department officials to make effective arrangements for the benefit of the maximum number of citizens in this age group in the city district.

Manoj Agrawal, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Health, had a high level meeting with officials at the Collectorate, on the current situation of Kovid-19 in Vadodaracity district and gave instructions and guidance about preparations for a possible third wave.

He added that people in the age group of 18 to 44 will be able to avail the benefit of walk-in vaccination through on-spot registration at vaccination centers across the state from 2 pm on Monday, June 21.

While the state government is committed to cover more and more people with vaccines as a effective step to prevent corona, he also said to increase the number of vaccination centers in the city district if needed.

In the second deadly wave of covid in Vadodara city district, the work done by the district administration and the corporation was demonstrated. Agarwal applauded the work done in the second wave in the city district and congratulated the officers.

Four level planning has been done by the district administration to meet the challenges of the potential third wave in Vadodara city district. Advance planning is already underway to increase bed capacity, increase human resources, manage oxygen and maintain a supply of medicines. He had made necessary suggestions to increase the number of beds in the third wave against the 14,000 beds available in the city district in the second wave.

Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal gave detailed information about the work done in Vadodara city as well as acting Collector Kiran Zaveri in Vadodara district under covid 19.

In this meeting, Dr. Ranjankrishna Iyer, Superintendent of Sayaji Hospital, Dr. Sheetal Mistry, Chief District Health Officer Dr. Jain, Municipal Corporation Health Officer Dr. Devesh Patel, Additional District Health Officer Dr. Uday Tilawat, Dr. Pathak were present.
