Active Covid cases touch 916 in Gujarat; 1 death in Bharuch

The state again saw a spike in daily Covid cases at 176 on Tuesday. Nearly 75% of the cases were recorded in eight municipal corporation areas.

With the update, the active cases reached 916. After 11 days, the state recorded one Covid death, in Bharuch. 

According to the officials, a man in his eighties, who was hospitalized after being detected with Covid, died during treatment.

The new cases included 89 in Ahmedabad city, 16 in Mehsana, and 15 each in Surat and Rajkot cities among others. 

The active cases include 460 in Ahmedabad, 104 in Rajkot, 87 in Surat, and 76 in Mehsana.
