Active Covid cases below 300 in Ahmedabad

The city on Monday recorded 24 new Covid positive cases, which amounted to 56% of the state's tally of 43. Gujarat recorded deaths of two active patients  one each from Rajkot and Surat districts. With the update, the number of active cases in Ahmedabad went down to 288, going below 300 after more than two months.

Except Ahmedabad and Vadodara (6), all other districts and cities recorded 3 or less daily cases. Out of 813 active cases in Gujarat, six were on ventilator. In Ahmedabad, one patient was on ventilator in private hospital, whereas overall number of hospitalized patients was in single digit.

Gujarat in 24 hours vaccinated 8,470 persons for the first dose and 75,728 for the second. In all, 5.2 crore have been administered first and 4.92 crore, second dose of Covid vaccine. The state also administered booster doses to 11,744 persons, taking total to 21.17 lakh.
