The students chanted slogans against the university authorities and handed over a application to the Registrar and Vice Chancellor. However the university was ready to admit all the students even if there was no agitation by ABVP. The Registrar said that considering the mass promotion by the university, all the students who have filled the form will be admitted, the students should not worry.

The state government has given mass promotions to the students due to the Corona epidemic. The number of students has increased due to mass promotion, as a result, classes in schools and colleges have been forced to increase the seats.

The ABVP held a protest at the MSU head office to ensure that no student is deprived of admission. The student union chanted slogans against the university authorities at the head office and demanded a 25 per cent increase in seats.

There was heated arguments between the student union and University Vigilance trying to stop students from going to the office. Later they handed over an application to the Registrar and Vice-Chancellor seeking an increase of 25 per cent seats in the university. The students have hinted in the application form that if the seats are not increased there will be a fierce agitation.

Student leaders said, due to the Corona epidemic, there is a huge rush of students for admission in various faculties of the university. They are demanding a 25 per cent increase in seats over the past month. But, no decision was taken by the authorities and they were forced to hold demonstrations at the head office on Tuesday. If the university does not take a quick decision there will be a fierce agitation in the coming days.

Regarding the demand of ABVP, Registrar K.M. Chudasama said that it is a fact that the number of students has increased due to mass promotion. The last date for opening the portal started by the university for filling up the form for admission was kept on 13th August and on today is August 17, then naturally the portal is closed. But, it has been decided by the university that, so far the students who have filled the form will be admitted.

He further said that the courses available in the university include council, entrance test as well as quota admission. With the exception of such admissions, all general admissions will be given as decided by the university and all the preparations have been made.
